Christmas card material, right?! ;) I love these photos and I'm so glad we took time during our recent trip to Cabo to have these photos taken.
So if you're planning a trip to Cabo, I'm going to share all of the info you need to have the same amazing photoshoot experience that I did. You're welcome. If you need other Cabo recommendations, read my hotel guide, sailing guide, and Flora Farms guide.
Before researching this trip, I had no clue what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted photos. I had been to Cabo once before but it was a very different trip, so I couldn't pull from experience. I spent quite a bit of time researching photoshoots in Cabo, but nobody was sharing exact locations and it was tough to trace things without knowing which of the "cabos" the photos were taked in. (hence, why I'm writing this post to help you!)
After creating a moodboard of the vibe I wanted for these photos, it was clear that we would take them on the beach and I wanted the famous Cabo arch to be seen, if possible.
Originally, I tried to book a photographer through a booking service, but the photographer I wanted the most wasn't available and the times just weren't aligning. The trip was creeping up on me, so I started reaching out to photographers I found on Instagram.
I came across @ferdelarosa_photo on Instagram and loved her style so I reached out and thank goodness she was able to make a shoot work the weekend we needed!
I showed her my vision and we had originally discussed a morning shoot, but she quickly told me that the location I wanted would only work for a SUNSET shoot! I'm so glad she told me that. Always talk through you vision with your photographer prior to the photoshoot. Ask for their opinion and ask if they have shot in that location before.
SO the best location for Cabo photos, in my opinion, is Monuments Beach at sunset! It was beautiful! Bonus: Monuments Beach is right below the hotel we stayed at - The Cape. So we literally walked to the pool and met our photographer and we were there! Such a dream!
We shot for about 30 minutes and it was perfect. We did one outfit change, because why not. Yes, I changed on the beach, and I might have flashed a few people. Whoops! All worth it for these photos though!
If you have questions about the location or photos, absolutely DM me @rhondajenkins.
