My COVID birthday and how I celebrated!

My COVID birthday and how I celebrated!

It looks like most people will get to experience at least one COVID birthday; last weekend was mine! Being an event planner during a pandemic that has canceled all the events is challenging in itself, but not being able to have a birthday bash was tough for someone who loves parties as much as I do! This birthday definitely looked a little different, but I tried to go with the flow, not have any crazy expectations about what would happen, and you know what? It was a GREAT birthday weekend!

I took Friday off work and it felt like a long weekend, which was so nice! I rarely take days off from email and working behind the scenes, so it was truly a break and I loved it! I started Friday with a pilates class with my friend Lisa and then we went to Starbucks for my free birthday drink! I relaxed at home Friday afternoon and had a few sweet deliveries, then was treated to a massage Friday afternoon! After that, I went on a birthday date to Fachini in Highland Park Village, and it was so special. If you're looking for a special occasion restaurant, I highly recommend it. Everyone was spaced out so nicely, the service is exceptional, and the food is perfection. Such a special night!

Saturday was a "play by ear" day, which is definitely not normal for me, so it was fun to just take things as they came! I knew that I wanted to do a casual fun dinner with three friends, but was waiting to see how I felt before making the final decision. That afternoon, I lounged, did a little birthday shopping with a friend, grabbed these two new pots from Anthro and planted a few new plant babies! Couldn't have been happier with my day! Then got ready and did a casual dinner with a few friends, birthday cake, and some very thoughtful gifts.

Sunday was another relaxing day, and I did a little more birthday shopping! I was actually thinking about a gift I wanted to buy for someone else, but then remembered that I get 50% off an item at Kendra Scott during my birthday month, so I went in to browse and ended up with a new stackable ring, and two gifts for other upcoming birthdays.

Since I couldn't see all of my friends together at one time, I spread all of my gifts and cards out on my table, so I could feel the love all weekend long - I loved it! All in all, I felt so loved this weekend, and I wish I could just do it all over again! ;)
