Use your sourdough starter to create these rolls of orange goodness!

I had way more fun making these sourdough orange rolls than a normal loaf of sourdough! If you want to make something fun with your sourdough starter, I highly recommend these rolls! Here is a Reels video of all of the steps!

I absolutely did not let my dough proof long enough overnight OR in the final proof. I'll just say this: orange rolls are one of my husband's favorite treats, and he didn't want to wait long for them!

I used the recipe from @meganalexandrahome (recipe page linked) and I followed her recipe fairly closely, so I'll let you do the same! I may experiment in the future and if so, will post the full recipe for you. For now, I encourage you to use hers! She also has a cinnamon roll recipe that I'll try soon!

One thing I did change was the icing. I *love* cream cheese icing and I knew it would be perfect paired with these rolls, so I made an orange cream cheese icing and it was perfection! Recipe below!

I microwaved a leftover roll to have for a treat today, and just ate the top 1/3 of the roll and I could get more icing to roll ratio.

The photo below is after the dough has proofed overnight (I should have let it go longer!), then rolling it out into a rectangle and filling it with the goods!

The next photo is after the final proof of the rolls. Again, didn't let them rise for long enough, but we were ready to bake them ;) I put them in my Le Creuset Braising Pan because I thought it would be adorable! ...and because Le Creuset heats so evenly, so it was a win!

Orange Cream Cheese Icing recipe:

4 oz cream cheese (half a normal package)

juice from one orange (I used the orange peel in the roll recipe, then the juice for the icing!)

2 cups powdered sugar

Add cream cheese to mixer and start mixing on low. Then add in orange juice. Slowly add powdered sugar and mix on low. Once combined, mix on high for 1-2 minutes. I used the whisk attachment on my kitchen aid mixer and it was amazing!
