This year is off to a good start: birthday dinner with good friends in Dallas, then a fun-filled roadtrip to Austin for a relaxing weekend away! Huge thank you to Mazda for providing a brand new CX-9 to cruise in! Always fun to drive in style and this car felt so luxurious- perfect for a bday trip!
Our weekend was comprised largely of pool time. I LOVED being able to relax at the pool with friends with no plans, nowhere to be, and no rush. The Omni has 4 pools that overlook the golf course and hill country, so the view was super relaxing and we had hour of entertainment and fun giving commentary about the golfers passing through, doing backflips, and trying all of the pool bar drinks. We had big plans to head into Austin and go paddle boarding, hang out on South Congress, and do all the things, but we were having such a great time at the pool that we just stayed at the resort all day, had lunch at the pool restaurant, and lounged in the sun!
Of course after a full day of pool time on Saturday, we went out on the town Saturday night and tried a few new places. AND I rode a scooter for the first time ever! I was pretty proud of myself, but I'm sure I looked a little shaky. (haha!) I'm normally not a fan of room service, but it was the perfect way to relax with my girls on a slow morning and the yogurt parfait was magical. Magical! The Omni Barton Creek has like 7 restaurants and a coffee shop, so there are plenty of dining options! On Friday night, we ate dinner at Bob's Chop House and it made all of my filet dreams come true- so good.
Y'all know I LOVE a good massage, and I was so excited to try the newly updated Mokara Spa at the Omni! It was huge- I had no idea what to expect, but everything was beautiful. There was a private rooftop pool just for spa guests to relax at, the showers were beautiful, and look at all of this gorgeous natural light! Mmmmm. I had the 50 minute Swedish Massage and it was perfection; my massage therapist was like ummm you're a little tight (thank you, Evolve workouts haha!) and I think I fell asleep at the end. So relaxing.
On the way back to Dallas, we had to stop in for brunch in North Austin at Hank's and we were so happy!! Look at this spread. Pancake dreams, delicious burger... and the cutest spot! Definitely worth a visit next time you're in Austin!
Overall, I had the best birthday trip and couldn't have asked for anything better. Huge thank you to the Omni Barton Creek Resort for a fantastic weekend, and to my wonderful friends for making it a special experience! I can't wait to get back to Austin soon for another weekend adventure!
