Recap of birthday weekend + restaurant review!

Recap of birthday weekend + restaurant review!

Who else celebrates their birthday for at least a week?! *my hand is raised!* I love an excuse to party and have fun, so of course my birthday is a great reason for a few days of fun, right?!

I shared on Instagram stories (highlight saved here) a few highlights from my birthday weekend, but wanted to give a little bit more information, especially about my birthday dinner because I know people want to know if Restoration Hardware is worth it.

This past Saturday was my birthday, and Sunday was my mother-in-law's birthday. So we basically partied all weekend! We took her out to dinner on Friday night and ate at Baboush in Uptown, which is a Moroccan & Mediterranean restaurant. My husband's family lived in Morocco for a few years during his childhood, so they gave me the full Moroccan cuisine education! TBH I had no idea that Baboush even existed, so it was exciting to try a new restaurant and celebrate my MIL! We had so much fun on Friday night!

Then Saturday was my birthday and it might have been my most relaxing birthday EVER. Seriously...it was awesome. I love to go big and have parties and do all the things, but it was nice to CHILL. We had a special birthday brunch at home and then my husband and I went out on the lake just the two of us, and we had so much fun! Of course, we stopped at Sonic on the way there, took our time, and it was amazing. We both felt so relaxed and it was so nice not to be on a schedule or have to coordinate big plans. Saturday night, my parents came into town, which was a last minute idea, and it turned out to be so fun!

Most relaxing birthday *actual day* ever! On Sunday morning, we went to church with the whole fam, then brunched at home. My dad went to play golf, my mom and I went to explore Dallas and do some shopping, and Adam had some extended family over to our house to watch the big soccer game.

We had my "official birthday dinner" Sunday night at Restoration Hardware. You might be thinking "isn't that a furniture store?" Yes, it is! Haha but they just built a beautiful new store in Dallas with a rooftop restaurant. It's been around for a couple months now and it has been hoppin! The restaurant is enclosed but there is an open air patio around the exterior of the restaurant/perimeter of the rooftop. It was such a fun night and of course we had to go out on the rooftop patio and take photos! Did you even go to RH if you didn't take a rooftop photo? (no, you didn't)

So I've gotten a few messages asking about RH and it's a fun experience for sure. I had visited once prior for rooftop drinks, and I'm glad we went there for dinner. I will say, though, that it might not be the best spot for you if you want a big celebration. My friend Kaitlyn bought me balloons and they wouldn't let her bring them in, so they held them in the coat closet. They also wouldn't do cake holding or cake cutting for us, which was disappointing. One of my favorite things is to order a burger at a nicer restaurant, because usually they are amazing! So I ordered the burger....Adam asked me if it was better than Beverley's and NOPE. It wasn't a great burger. BUT I think everyone else's food was great! The truffle fries were excellent! I did try Kaitlyn's rib eye sandwich, and it was also excellent, so maybe the burger just isn't the move at RH! I'm sharing this so you know what to expect, not to put down the restaurant at all. In fact, I'm sure I'll go back again, but won't get the burger. :)

It was such a great birthday, and no, I don't feel older. I still feel 22!! ;) Here's to being 29 for the rest of my life!
