THE GEAR

Sometimes fitness is a struggle, but it is so much easier when you feel good in what you're wearing to the gym! (it's true!) Some days are definitely harder than others to maintain motivation to live a healthy lifestyle, and I have been working hard since returning from Paris to find a good fitness routine to compliment my healthy eating (well, my GOAL of healthy eating!), and am finally in a good rhythm of working out balanced with cooking at home and a few splurges here and there. I'm partnering with Old Navy this month to show you my favorite workout pieces and this partnership came just in time because I was definitely feeling "blah" about my workout gear; I love the pieces I have (and some of them are even from Old Navy and still in great condition), but just wanted something new! I love that Old Navy's prices don't break the bank, so it's okay to treat myself with a new piece when I want to!

THE WORKOUT

Now that I'm working from home, planning events and blogging full time, I'm sitting down at my computer A LOT and the refrigerator is only a step away if I want a snack. Hello, procrastination!! It's easy for someone with a "flexible schedule" to fall into the trap of staying up late and sleeping in (as I write this blog post at 1:00AM!), so in order to motivate myself to start my day at a reasonable hour each morning, I schedule a workout class that I CANNOT cancel. I use StudioHop so I have unlimited visits to Dallas fitness studios all month long- it's $135/month which is a lot compared to big box gyms, but nothing compared to a single studio membership rate! I knew that fitness was something that I wanted to invest in, so that price is well worth it for me. StudioHop doesn't let you cancel your class if it's less than 12 hours away, so I can't stay up late and decide that I don't want to workout in the morning; they charge $15 (I think?) cancellation fee per class, so it definitely keeps me motivated to get there even if I'm tired!

THE FOOD

I have been trying to cook at home more often, even though I know it seems like I'm posting donuts on Instagram all the time (promise, I eat salads too!); my favorite part of cooking at home is having leftovers for lunch the next day! I'm a planner, and sometimes when it comes to food, it's hard to make a healthy choice in the moment if you haven't planned for it- that's why I love leftovers! No last minute runs to Chick-Fil-A! My go-to quick meal is marinated salmon from Central Market, sauteed zucchini and squash, rice pilaf, and water- super simple, quick, and delicious. Bonus: my boyfriend loves it too, so we usually cook some variation of this meal once a week together. Ask your significant other or BFF to try cooking together one day a week- it's fun, I promise! FYI: I still eat queso weekly, so there's that.

I usually remember to post a daily photo on Instagram stories from my workout, so that is a great way for me to stay semi-accountable to YOU! The photo below was from Beyond Pilates and I love this $10 tank from Old Navy: "Coffee, but first GYM."

Thank you for reading my fitness update and thank you to Old Navy for partnership on this post!
