Bonjour from Paris! I have officially lived in my favorite city for one week now, and I am loving it so far! There have been a few bumbles along the way, but I'm getting into a routine and have even made some friends. One thing that I was concerned about was looking too much like a tourist and being targeted for pick-pocketing, so I love that I can fit all of my essentials, including my large camera into my Coach crossbody bag and not have to carry a backpack. Now I know that there are mobs and mobs of other people who look like tourists and I don't need to be concerned at all, but it still feels like a compliment when someone first speaks to me in French instead of English, especially if they're an American tourist! I have adopted the Frenchy method of riding public transportation (look angry at all times!) and I have already even picked up a few French phrases.
