Most people would agree that Easter generates the best candy out of all the holidays- Peeps are an Easter staple that everyone looks forward to. I'm generally not a huge Peep fan, but I decided to dip them in chocolate and decorate them with sprinkles (turns out that makes all the difference); the marshmallow plus the chocolate is delicious. I love these pictures because they are so colorful…making this Easter treat was a fun process. My Peeps look like a 5 year-old made them, but the more I made, the better they looked. Practice makes perfect.
First, melt down almond bark in the microwave or on the stove. I used half of one package of white chocolate and half of one package of chocolate almond bark for 20 Peeps. Dip your Peep into the chocolate, then immediately cover with sprinkles or any other decoration, then set aside on parchment or wax paper to let the almond bark harden.
I love how cheerful they look. I even experimented with making a Peep-kabob; I think it turned out really well and would make a great addition to an Easter basket! I delivered these little guys to some friends and they were a big hit. Kabobs, Peep s'mores….possibilities are endless. Enjoy!
